Module contents
By the conclusion of this module, students will attain a comprehensive understanding of three pivotal areas in medical informatics crucial for professionals operating within hospital or large clinical settings.
They will acquire profound insights into the operational dynamics of a diagnostic laboratory unit within a hospital or clinic. This encompasses a grasp of diverse tests, biological sample handling, as well as the generation, processing, and seamless integration of resulting data into the healthcare continuum.
Furthermore, students will gain comprehensive knowledge about various sterilization processes employed both in medical institutions and industrial contexts, such as implant production. This will entail a deep dive into the fundamental principles underpinning sterilization, encompassing physical, chemical, and biological dimensions. The module will also elucidate the production and integration of data emanating from these processes into the broader healthcare landscape.
Ultimately, the curriculum will encompass an in-depth exploration of hospital pharmacy operations. This encompasses an elucidation of distinct drug categories, prevailing classification systems, and the generation and processing of relevant data. These insights will be seamlessly integrated into the overarching healthcare network.
