Module Content
Integrating heterogeneous spatio-temporal data across scales is a common use of GIS to generate derived datasets providing information about the environment. How can such datasets be used on local, national and global scales to provide scientists, policymakers and the public with information, for example with respect to progress towards sustainable development goals?
In this course students will investigate how environmental indicators are created, exploring the complete data flow from data sources through their integration and analysis to representation.
The course encompasses 14 weeks of work, divided into two parts. In the first part are lectures, each dealing with another aspect of environmental indicators, coupled with group presentations related to the lecture themes. The second part of the course focuses on project work.
