Knowledge of the state of the art in geographic information visualization, critical evaluation of scientific literature (in non- native language), hands-on exercises and group project work, application of specialized software and respective programming.
This course deepens and extends the principles, theories, and methods of geographic information visualization, one subfield of geographic information science. The lecture portion of this course draws from developments in GIScience, scientific visualization, information visualization, as well as from cognitive science. The laboratory sessions provide hands-on experience of concepts and theories discussed in lectures.
