Lernziele
The students
  • present and discuss selected social work issues from their respective cultural and subject-specific perspectives.
  • deepen their knowledge on social work issues on an international scale.
Lerninhalte (Abstract) This course focuses on current social problems challenging social work in Switzerland and the USA. Current challenges and issues, especially regarding topics such as poverty, social welfare, health care and migration will be discussed in a virtual classroom. Students interact with social work lecturers and professionals from both countries to analyze various concepts, strategic approaches and interventions addressing these challenges. Students reflect on transfer and innovation potentials in relation to their professional identities and social work practice.
