Description

Version: 2.0 start 01 August 2020

Short description

Physics 1 first introduces you to the basic scientific methodology and related mathematical tools by analysing dynamic processes from the fields of hydro and electrodynamics. The second part of the course focuses on Newtonian mechanics and basic fluid dynamics.

Module coordinator

Learning objectives (competencies)

Objectives Competences Taxonomy levels
The students will be able to:
apply the basics of Newtonian mechanics and fluid-dynamics to solve simple problems related to transportation and aviation engineering F, M K1 - K3
develop balance equations for extensive physical properties stemming from the fields of hydro- and electrodynamics as well as linear mechanics (mass, volume, charge, momentum, energy) for defined systems and use calculus to solve those in simple cases. F, M K3
develop and experimentally validate models for simple dynamic systems. F, M K3
recognize and transfer analogies between different fields of physics. F, M K4
