Description

Version: 2.0 start 01 February 2020

Short description

In the Thermodynamics module of the Fluid- and Thermodynamics (FTH) series, students learn the basics of thermodynamics at UAS Bachelor level. The overall goal is to understand the changes of state of gases in technical processes.

Module coordinator

Tillenkamp, Frank (till)

Learning objectives (competencies)

Objectives Competences Taxonomy levels
The students know the Ideal Gas Law, the First and Second Law of Thermodynamics, important changes of state and circular processes F K1
The students can represent and explain the important changes of state and circular processes in the state diagrams. F, M K2
They analyse simple plants and plant components and can perform calculations such as the determination of status points and efficiencies. F, M K3

Module contents

Contents of the lecture and exercises:
- Equation of state of the ideal gas
- 1. principal theorem for closed and open systems
- 2nd principal clause
- State changes for open and closed systems
