Learning objectives Attitude:
  • Students examine the benefits and necessity of digitisation in industry and in the areas of language teaching, learning and testing. They are aware of the challenges posed by digitisation processes in companies and educational institutions, and are able to reflect on these critically.
  Knowledge:
  • Students are familiar with fundamental and current developments in the field of learning technologies and artificial intelligence. They are familiar with media didactic approaches and possibilities for the targeted use of digital media, artificial intelligence and open educational resources in industrial, teaching, learning and testing scenarios. They are familiar with relevant models and methods in these areas and deal with their ethical and (data protection) legal aspects.
  Skills:
  • Working in groups and individually, students are able to analyse, plan and implement a real project for integrating artificial intelligence into existing structures and organisational units in consultation with clients and other stakeholders. They are capable of developing, implementing and evaluating digital solutions and competence assessments. They can guide others in designing multimedia, interactive and adaptive scenarios tailored to specific needs. They are able to present developed solutions in group and individual presentations tailored to the target audience.
Course content
  • Basics of digitalisation.
  • Artificial intelligence in teaching (LLMs, prompt engineering, feedback).
  • Familiarity with applications.
  • Open Educational Resources (OER).
  • Testing theories (validity/reliability).
  • Testing statistics.
  • Knowledge of development processes in artificial intelligence.
  • Ethical and legal implications of digitalisation.
Form of instruction
Face-to-face teaching / supervised self-study / coaching / presentations.

  • Working in groups and independently.
  • Interacting with clients and responding to their needs.
  • Thinking and acting analytically and in a networked manner.

Performance
assessment
Assessment during the semester in accordance with the specifications of the lecturers taking account of the learning objectives.
 
  1. Project report with preliminary interim and final presentations of the work as well as consultations with the client (group work, 50%).
  2. Reflection report on the usefulness of the module content for one’s own professional future (individual work, 50%).
Assessment type: Assessment type: Grades (from 1 to 6) awarded at increments of 0.25.
