Learning Outcomes and Competencies 
Students will be able to
 categorize and solve elementary equations.
 apply sequences and series in the context of iterative processes and calculate their limits.
 recognise elementary function types, modify them, combine them, name their properties and apply them to concrete problems.
 calculate derivatives and use them in the context of extreme value problems and approximation methods.
 calculate elementary integrals.

Assessment 
Written exam at the end of the semester as eassessment and on paper (67%)
The course work (33%) component consists of several assignments (e.g. written tests, eassessments, small group assignments).
If there is a low number of participants, the lecturer may change the form of a repeat examination after consultation with the head of the study programme: e.g. an oral examination can be used to replace a written one.
