Learning Outcomes and Competencies
  • Basic knowledge of the functions and purpose of various industrial plant technologies
  • Basic understanding of technical standards and the graphical representation of technical systems and processes
  • Reading and drawing flow diagrams (basic flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation flow diagrams (P&ID) according to DIN EN ISO 10628-1 and DIN EN ISO 10628-2
  • Knowledge of the most important fittings and materials in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries
  • Basic knowledge of Hygienic Design
Module Content In the Industrial Systems 1 module, students become familiar with the most commonly used materials and fittings for apparatus and industrial systems in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the development of industrial production plants and the ways in which their components function. They will also learn to read and create basic, process, and P&I flow diagrams.
