Introduction to physics, basic knowledge of algebra and analysis
Learning Outcomes and Competencies
Students will learn about and understand the basic laws of physics (mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity).
They will recognise the applications of these laws and their consequences for nature and technology. They will be able to perform simple calculations based on these laws.
Module Content
Mechanics: kinematics, force
Conservation laws
Fluid mechanics: hydrostatics, the continuity equation, Bernoulli’s equation, fluid friction
Thermodynamics: heat, gas law
Electricity: electrical charge, current, voltage, electrical resistance, Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's law
