Learning Outcomes and Competencies Students will
  • know the criteria for the choice of distribution-free or non-parametric statistical tests and be able to apply and interpret them;
  • be able to plan their experiments in such a way that an optimal and reliable result is obtained using limited resources;
  • be able to apply the methods of statistical data analysis to their own scientific questions;
  • be able to correctly apply the one-way or two-way analysis of variance;
  • be able to use statistical functions of common tools (e.g. MS Excel, R) independently.

  • Prerequisites of hypothesis tests
  • Non-parametric tests (sign and rank sum tests)
  • Experimental design (power analysis, design of experiments)
  • One-way or two-way analysis of variance
