Module Content The goal of the course is to convey leadership competencies that should be acquired on an individual basis. People differ, and leadership behaviour results from the influence of organisations, situations and other people.  Leadership stems from self-leadership, and this is where the main focus will lie.

Communication in organisations, and accordingly also in leadership, is a central element which is dealt with thoroughly. Leadership behaviour is based on a person’s own attitudes and values. Students further learn how to give constructive feedback, something which is closely related to motivation. Conflicts and how to deal with them will also be an important topic. The ways in which teams and project teams work will be discussed in detail and practiced in groups. People experience stress on an individual basis and dealing with stress in projects will also be considered. In leadership, the focus will be on self-competencies and social competencies.

These leadership topics also apply within project management.

Projects are often developed within organisations requiring a high level of technical and methodological competence for them to be successfully managed and executed. Project management is concerned with obtaining a clear starting point and creating this for others. Structuring the planning well is just as important as the execution and implementation. In projects it is important to proactively plan resources and to envisage a sustainable conclusion as well as follow-up activities. Projects require a high degree of flexibility in order to maintain new perspectives and not lose sight of the project’s goal.
