can prepare and examine microscopic specimens, and

Biology:
Genes, alleles, dominant-recessive and incompletely dominant inheritance
Anatomy of the cormophytes (root, shoot axis, leaf)
The functions of plant organs
Photosynthesis, including photorespiration and C4 plants
Reproduction in flowering plants (flower anatomy, development of female and male gametophyte, double fertilisation, fruits and seeds)
Ecology:
Evolution
Environmental conditions and resources
Biotic interactions (competition, predator-prey)
Material and energy flows in ecosystems
Population ecology
Population genetics

The ecology lectures are largely based on the book " Ökologie", which is available online for free from the university library (third edition of the German version). Selected and shortened chapters (and possibly sections from other textbooks) are provided on Moodle.
