Learning Outcomes and Competencies Students should be able to
  • identify, distinguish between, and cultivate various vegetable and herb species.
  • assess the suitability of a location for vegetable production.
  • describe and explain functional aspects of urban cultivation systems in outdoor settings and greenhouses.  
  • evaluate plant growth and appearance and propose appropriate management interventions.
  • develop and implement strategies to promote soil fertility for vegetable cultivation.
  • evaluate the economic viability of vegetable crops.
  • apply integrated circular thinking within urban systems and develop suitable planting concepts.
  • develop comprehensive solutions for urban farming projects.
Module Content This module covers all essential aspects of vegetable and herb cultivation, ranging from site selection and cultivation systems to soil fertility management and pest control. The curriculum includes the following topics and learning objectives:
