Module Contents:

 Concepts and procedures in descriptive statistics. Data collection and preparation, data types. Basic principles of data visualisation, graphical representations of one-dimensional samples (stem-leaf plots, histograms, cumulative distribution function, box plots, bar charts, pie charts). Statistical key figures of one-dimensional samples (quantiles, location, shape and scattering parameters). Descriptive statistics of multidimensional data (crosstabs, scatter plots, correlation, comparative box plots or bar charts for grouped data). Use of a software tool (R/R Commander, RExcel) for the descriptive analysis of data
