Learning outcomes and competencies The students acquire basic knowledge of elementary inferential statistics. They become familiar with the language and way of thinking commonly used in statistics. They learn to gather data in useful ways in experiments and surveys, to ask meaningful questions about this data, and to answer them with appropriate tests.
Course content Evaluative statistics:
  • Binomial and normal distribution as the basis of the theory of probability
  • Selected tests (e.g. t-test)
  • Simple ANOVA
  • Significance and confidence, estimation methods
  • Correlation coefficients
