Description

Version: 2.0 start 01 February 2021

Short description

Students acquire knowledge of lightweight materials (specifically carbon composites and aluminium), focusing on applications, behaviour under operating conditions, damage and repair and testing methods.

Module coordinator

Peikert Gregor (peik)

Learning objectives (competencies)

Objectives Competences Taxonomy levels
Students know the properties of aerospace materials (in particular carbon composites) and can apply these to a practice-oriented case. Testmethods. F, M K5
Students gain relevant knowledge of dynamic load; they can identify its impact on choice of materials; and can optimise this process using examples F, M K5
Students learn to analyse loads and apply these to various ranges; they can identify the impact on damages and carry out service lifetime calculations F, M K5
Students learn the effect of operatin conditions, damages, repair and testing methods. F, M K5
