Learning Outcomes and Competencies
The module aims to familiarise participants with the history and challenges of the development and implementation of cell and tissue therapies.
Module Content
The lecture series introduces participants to selected cell and tissue therapies, including both classical and modern approaches.
Classical cell therapies (bone marrow donation and blood transfusion, immunological considerations) and an overview of ongoing clinical cell therapy studies
Therapy development
Example of living skin replacement
Example of cell therapy for diabetes mellitus
Exosomes for the production of new therapeutic products: role and extraction
Bioprinting of tissues and organs: comparison between ex-vivo and in-vivo
