  • be able to evaluate high vs low quality information
  • be able to apply this information in sequence analysis, multiple sequence alignments and phylogenetic trees, and understand the bioinformatics behind this
  • know the different enzyme databases
  • be able to depict protein structures
  • be able to learn about simple systems biology

  • Sequence alignment: local versus global, matrices, BLAST algorithms
  • Multiple sequence alignments, phylogenetic trees
  • Enzyme databases for biocatalysis
  • Graphic representation of proteins
  • Modelling and docking of/with proteins
  • Omics technologies and their databases
  • Example applications in the field of systems biology
  • Applications of the techniques discussed using Corona Virus as an example
