Entrance Requirements
In order to take this module, students must have passed the ‘Pre-Project - Bachelor Thesis’ module as part of the Biotechnology bachelor’s degree programme.
Learning Outcomes and Competencies
Through the Main Project – Bachelor Thesis module, students gain the ability to solve a scientific (laboratory-based) problem, one which is both current and located within the field, and to present this in the form of a scientific paper and a poster presentation.
Module Content
Preparation of the thesis
in the Biotechnology bachelor’s degree programme
. To obtain the BSc, the scientific problem must be developed on both a practical and a theoretical level. This includes among other things:
Preparing a project plan together with the supervisor
An extended thematic literature review
Formulating goals of the experiment and the disposition
Designing and carrying out the experiment
Preparing the experiment protocol
Written thesis (data assessment, evaluation and discussion)

Classroom Attendance
The module takes place throughout CW18 – CW27 in the Spring Semester (6th semester of study).
Thesis must be submitted by the end of the Spring Semester, 31 July.
Assessment
Coursework (project report) 100%: Successful completion of the written academic thesis includes an oral presentation of the results and/or preparation of a poster.
