Learning Outcomes and Competencies During these self-organised learning sessions with fellow students from lower year groups, the focus lies on developing the following competencies:
 
Subject-specific competencies:
By reflecting on content acquired from their own studies and mentoring students from lower year groups, students have the opportunity to consolidate and, if necessary, optimise what they have learned. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to develop and practice personal skills such as empathy, communication abilities and knowledge transfer. (Specific fields of study may vary.)
 
Transferrable skills:
Students will be able to
  • as a team, autonomously plan and execute a work process.
  • reflect on what they have learned and present this knowledge in communicative tasks.
  • become adept in and document the process of ‘peer coaching’.

  • support with academic issues within the Biotechnology curriculum in lectures and practicals - development of learning methodologies
  • support in general with life as a student
  • personal support of a general nature (buddy function)
