Module contents: 

Overview of transport systems from a technical perspective:
  • Set-up of transportation systems: transport carriers/companies, means of transport (land, water, air, tunnel), transport chains, appropriate deployment
  • Means of transport: rolling stock, road vehicles, ships, aircraft
  • Concepts, definitions
Service planning in public transport and motorised private transport:
  • Service concepts for passenger and freight transport
  • Long-distance transport, conurbation and regional transport, local transport
  • Combined mobility and transport chains P (door-to-door) / G (supplier-customer)
Principles of infrastructure planning:
  • Road: routes/nodes, roads/traffic lanes
  • Public transport: public facilities, terminals
  • Interactions and interconnections: services-production-infrastructure-means of transport
